The tertiary education sector is experiencing the most significant changes in almost 20 years. Arguably, as universities consider their competitive positions, there has never been a greater need for their leaders to be on the one hand prudent, cautious and resourceful, and on the other imaginative, adventurous, entrepreneurial - and open to outside marketing thinking and expertise.
The biennial Universities Marketing, Communications and Development Conference is the principal forum for delegates from across Australia, S.E. Asia and the Pacific to meet, learn, network, mentor and exchange ideas.
This conference will cater for professionals of all levels of seniority and experience, and will incorporate a mentoring program for newer staff and emerging leaders. The conference has been designed for delegates from the following disciplines:

With significant funding challenges and the increasingly competitive student recruitment environment, the 2007 conference will be particularly relevant – especially as marketing directors and pro vice-chancellors consider crucial issues such as competitor intelligence, positioning, differentiation, media awareness, sourcing funds, planned giving, corporate partnerships, alumni engagement, branding, profiling, international opportunities and regional security.
The conference will examine the tensions that impact on (and between) universities as they vie for students and flag their teaching, technology and research strengths. It will also look at issues that impact upon international enrolments – changes in S.E. Asia, regional tensions, the terrorism threat and health issues.
Tying it all together: The conference will pay particular attention to the need for integrated marketing, communications and development and the importance of teams working closely with core marketing units to achieve outcomes determined by strategic plans. |
