Banks and Foreign Exchange
Melbourne's banking hours are generally Monday to Thursday 9am-4pm and Friday 9am-5pm. All the major banks have offices in the city and are equipped to exchange foreign currency. You can also exchange foreign currency any day or night at the airport, or during normal business hours in Melbourne's central business district.

Shopping
From haute couture to hip and funky threads, Melbourne is famous for its great shopping. In the last twelve months the retail space in the CBD has doubled.

Melbourne has stylish city complexes like QV, GPO and Melbourne Central. Many of central Melbourne's enticing shops are tucked down narrow nooks and crannies in the hidden laneways which snake the CBD.

Melbourne also has a multitude of markets offering everything from new and pre-loved shoes, clothes and accessories – try the Chapel Street Bazaar, the Camberwell and Queen Victoria markets or stroll down Bridge Road in Richmond, where many of Melbourne's most successful retail stores have their warehouses and factory outlets.

Or, for the style conscious, preview the latest collections at Chapel Street, South Yarra, or head to Acland Street in St Kilda or Fitzroy's Brunswick Street for local designers, street fashion, and groovy bars and cafes.

Visas
All travellers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are required to obtain a Visa to travel to Australia.

The Business Visa allows people attending conferences and meetings in Australia to make a short visit of up to three months.

Australia's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is the world's most advanced and streamlined travel authorisation system. If the country your passport represents has ETA Business Access, it enables visitors to Australia to obtain authority to enter at the same time as they book their travel arrangements. There is no need for the traveller to complete an application form for a Visa. In addition, a recent innovative enhancement to ETA arrangements allows a traveller to apply for an ETA over the Internet.
