Mr Shane Rodgers

Mr Rodgers is General Manager of Queensland Newspapers, which publishes Queensland’s largest newspapers - The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail - as well as commuter newspaper MX and the couriermail.com.au website. He was previously Deputy General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Quest Community Newspapers which publishes 18 titles across the Greater Brisbane area and the Sunshine Coast. Prior to that he spent 20 years in journalism, holding the positions of Chief-of-Staff, News Editor and Deputy Editor of The Courier-Mail. He has twice worked in the Press Gallery in Canberra, including as Chief-of-Staff of the News Ltd national bureau. As a reporter he has covered economics, politics, court, social issues, industrial relations, police, mining, rural and education.

Mr Rodgers has also held senior positions outside of newspapers as Director of Marketing and Communications at The University of Queensland and National Manager of the Centrelink media office.
